A happy group of young ARTISTS..... what an honour to get to know these young people a little bit.... and enjoy their art creations over the few short weeks we had together in the after school art program... a pleasure ... thank YOU to their PAC for sponsoring this :)

I am so LOVING teaching these young people.  I am enjoying the reaction of their parents, too.  I was approached by so many parents, men and women, both before AND after class to let me know that they had run out to buy a frame for their child's art.... and it is now proudly hanging in their home.... YES!!!! :)

I have taught art to secondary students for years, always knowing that my class might be the last that they ever took in art.  I loved the idea, that the pieces that they created, with me, and so very many amazing art creations.....  that THEY, these young people,  would always be looked upon as an artist, always.....  no matter if they became, doctors, plumbers, or what evers.  How fabulous to have that feeling in your life... to KNOW that you ARE an artist.... and now for these elementary students to leave my class knowing they created not only a thing of beauty in their eyes, but, that their parents valued it enough to put in a FRAME!!!  Fabulous!  Yes, life IS good :)

I am so thrilled to be back teaching.  However... I do not think that you will ever see me in a gym again... with SIXTY Grade One/Two students... on the hottest day of the year in BC... after they had a full day of working in the classroom with no real break, or sustenance ... oh my... and not to pat my own back, however... overall, I KNOW I did a fine job and students left happy and with wonderful pieces of art... but... I do not think I should never do this again... oh yeah... until next week :)

... and then the parents arrived... so thrilled to see their child's artwork ... everyone so lovingly created in the after school art club..... their school's PAC is sponsoring a four week program.... many of the parents said that they were running off to buy a frame for their child's original piece ... YES!!!!!

And then they were finished... and they were so proud of their work... and I, admittedly, was downright giddy with what they accomplished in the after school club :)
